The Letterheads

Letterheads first began in 1975 when a group of signwriting apprentices came together to share sign painting techniques at risk of extinction. These meeting have grown over time with international meets, as well as smaller, more local ones, allowing the trade to flourish with the sharing of knowledge among the thousands of letterheads around the world.

Norwich Casual Letterheads is an opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones, learn about sign painting, gilding and lettering, pick up a brush, lay down some paint and, most importantly, to have fun!

Back for a second year, Norwich Letterheads centers around the panel jam: bring your brushes (or buy one at the event), grab a panel and get painting. The panel jam will be running all weekend and is an opportunity to socialise over a cuppa and a cup of paint, take it easy and go with the (Chroma)flow.

We'll be running a few talks and demonstrations over the weekend, allowing you to familiarise yourself with some new techniques and disciplines, duck in and out at your leisure. Workshops will include introductions to pinstriping, surface gilding, blackboard art and lettering effects. In the evenings we will be hosting socials, allowing you to explore the city (it's only small!) and on Saturday night we will be hosting a party at our fantastic venue.

On Sunday we will be running a charity auction with submissions from the panel jam and any pieces that people have painted in advance. This will be open to the public with all profits being split between the East Anglia Children's Hospices and New Routes charities.
